Return to Planar Speaker Asylum
107.72.164.30
I was browsing for speakers and I came across this pic. No wonder the person is selling them! They are plastered to the wall! Anyway, does anyone know which model they are and what they might be worth. He's asking 600. I guess there are no stands.
Follow Ups:
I have a friend who has Acoustat speakers almost as poorly placed. Good for background music and not much else.
MG-1 also had the stiles on the front side. BUT, the MG-1 was not as tall as the panels in the photo. They ARE fairly old, that's for certain.
And setup by someone without a CLUE as to what they were or how to set them up for proper sound. I'll bet this sound awful.
Too much is never enough
The guy called me back, he said they are MG 2, and he stopped listening to music seven years ago and they have been mounted in the wall since then for decoration!
I'd pass, no telling what's growing on the other sides of those panels.
look like they might have mye stands. My 2b's look the same, but are on a plinth.

The whole room is completely sterile looking. It's probably one of those rooms nobody is allowed to venture into. :)
But maybe there are holes in the wall and the speakers are in use in the adjoining room as well? :)
Dave.
Yeah, they are covering holes in the walls. Probably hiding something within ala the movie Sicario.
Me and the wife watched that last night; great movie.*still a relatively new release so I won't comment about your observation!

There must at least be some holes in the wall allowing for wire to connect them to an amplifier. :-)
Those are either MGIIA or MGIIB. $600 is too much for those. Maybe around $400-$450, if they're in good operating shape.
MGIIB?
WAF driven placement?
