Wow, great community!
Will arrange to listen and likely buy.
When auditioning used maggies, has anyone posted a list of things to check out. I can listen for vibrations/rattles, anything else?
Thanks!

Albert, you may want to audition the MG 1.6s armed with a test disc that plays tones from 20-HZ to 20,000. Listen for buzzes and odd sounds.
Check for curling of the wires at the ends of the runs using an LED flashlight.
If you are considering the pair on CAM don't worry about the small holes on the rear of the socks. Sheila at Magnepan will sell you a new set for about $40.00 US.
Removal of the thin wood stiles without breakage is the only difficult part and if needed they are also available for a reasonable price.
If you find small de-laminations while replacing socks you can use DAP- if you have a friend in the U.S.- or another alternative. If they sound as good as they look they are a no-brainer!
I have poked around the net looking for a downloadable 20-20K frequency sweep with a 60+ sec duration as (preferably as a wav file or in an ISO but to no avail. Any suggestions as where I should look? Hitting the road tomorrow morning to go test the 1.6. Hopefully coming back with speakers and a big grin. Might even have an Emotiva amp too... I have heard that they play well together.
Thanks
Albert
Can you get your hands on one of these by tomorrow?
I use track 7 for a frequency sweep.

Good luck with your road trip and enjoy the MG 1.6s.
