I agree about the prices. I think much of it is due to the number of hands that are in the pie. From mfg. to distributor to retailer. Depending on the product. Everyone gets a cut, so by the time we buy it well...
As to the 240 Volt you have, are you overseas or in the states? I assume you are not in the states? Or is it a piece of equipment meant to be used abroad? What kind of plug does it have?

I was talking about the fuse I have that was in the fuse holder that survived, it says AGC 2 1/2 250V, 1/4"dia 1 1/4" long. I was wondering what your fuse was. I live in Vegas now, use to live in Columbus OH and now I miss it as i knew where the good audio shops were.

OOPs! Sorry :) I pulled my fuse and it reads "250V 2 1/2 A" Hope that helps, not sure what the 250V means, perhaps someone else could shed some light on that.
It means it's for a 250 Volt circuit.. thanks for the info...
