I keep telling people that but there is a disbelief among many so they put a 100 or 200 watt amp on it and complain about lack of dynamics.

Satie,
As I believe you have pointed out many times in the past, there is a reason why Magnepan demos their speakers with Audio Research and more currently Bryston amplification. My modest Sunfire puts out the wattage, but I am very interested in trying some of the Bryston monoblocks. Or in a perfect world where I have a limitless supply of money, biamped with a Pass on top and Bryston on lows.
Little tube amps can sound great with planars for some things, but dynamics an d decibels require serious power.
Though I generally agree with your choice of amps for your virtual system, I think the Brystons are not the perfect choice since the Magtechs came out as they are particularly designed for planars. Besides, now that class D has come of age you can use better class D amps based on more recent B&O modules, Ncore, or the Spectron Musician on the bottom end. Just be sure they have sufficient capacitance to hold them up in the bottom octave.

I've been very interested in trying the Sanders Magtech amps as I've heard nothing but praise. Last time I checked though they are internet-direct only, and I can't find one to test out. They are also too expensive for me to buy new in my current situation... not that Pass and Bryston are any better in that regard, but that's why I use secondhand Sunfires.
By all accounts the Sunfire is a great value and you don't miss much on SQ compared to much more expensive amps of similar power. The question is how they stack up compared to more recent Ncore and class D amps that you can find on the used market.
