Return to Planar Speaker Asylum
68.7.8.90
Hi Everyone,
Sorry if this has been posted already but I was looking for info on some BG ribbons I have over on the Parts Express site and notice none of their product are available. Went over to GR Research site and saw the same thing.
Are they still selling to the public?
Follow Ups:
BG Corp was sold to Christie Digital and it looks like they don't want the product resold. They may sell them for OEM use but even that is not clear at this time. This info comes from Danny Richie at GR Research who uses lots of these drivers and is trying to get more. He is not sure if he will. Any of this info could change at any time.

That is very bad news. Hopefully they keep them available.I don't think they can maintain their economies of scale just for their own speakers and some OEMs.
and have moved to CA but have not yet re-opened or started to re-distribute the drivers. Suppose to happen soon. Hang in there. They make great drivers.
Thank you for the update. I have pair the BG Neo 3PDR's and some new in the box a pair of BG RD-48s for my Carvers Amazing Silvers. I need some crossover info on them.
Hopefully the with start shipping again soon.
http://www.proraum-vertrieb.de/ distributes them in Germany - seems to be live. The Neo drivers are made in the Phillipines IIRC. So may be stuck getting into CA ports that are on strike.
bgcorp.com is still live and they are showing speakers with Neo drivers. They were showing their new tower speakers just last fall at shows.
I guess you can contact them and see whether they will be made available again soon.
There was a scare a couple of years ago but the products returned.
It may be that the recent AMT drivers (like those under PE's Dayton brand) have dented their sales. But I doubt it killed the company or the product line.
Here is the URL to the BG line at Audax Germany
