At CES, Magnepan paired it's new .7 line with a 135 watt Conrad-Johnson SS amp. Even Magnepan gets it that it doesn't take a zillion watts to drive them to proper levels.

I'm surprised they didn't go with their neighboring company's Ref. 75 SE. I heard that amp on a pair of 3.7i's at Audio Perfection in Minneapolis, and it had more than enough power at 75 tubed WPC.

I'm using their neighbors VS110 tube amp and it too doesn't run out of power driving my 2.5's. The Connie is 135 of SS! This sort of dispels the argument that Magnepans need gobs of this or that.
