Since breaking in the Parasound P5 preamp (2.1), it's been a real game changer for me.I knew going in that I would eventually upright the 3.5Rs, which I am using as bass panels; using Swan Diva IIs mid/tweeter some 4ft in front of the 3.5Rs
Friday night I made the move, and was wonderfully rewarded. You might wonder why horizontal placement was an improvement, before, with the Parasound P3, but not now. Simple. The P3 lacked the power and authority of the P5, which I compensated for by running the 3.5Rs parallel to the floor
Next I will move the 3.5Rs up front and run them full range, sans Swans. If that works, as I hope, the Swans will move to my video system

Can I ask why you put them in those positions ... and the results this gave?
In my last house I had my IIIas placed in a similar situation to yours (with ribbons inside, although I had a masonry front wall - not glass) and used 2x Roomtunes placed so they "interrupted" the sound ray that went from the ribbons ... to the front wall ... then to my ears.
With the Roomtunes in that position, I got a much deeper soundstage ... it was quite eerie! (Quite easy to demonstrate ... when laying the Roomtunes down on the floor, the soundstage became flat ... putting them upright again, the soundtsage got deeper.)
Regards,
Andy
Every room is different
Directly behind the rack is a 3 x 3 end table with the W4S amp on top and a PS Audio Premier Power Plant below. Across from it is the outboard powr supply for the modified Pioneer
I found the biggest RoomLens bang for the buck was on the outside and perpendicular to the 3.5Rs
But after all the upgrades and changes, who knows?
Over the weekend I played around with Swan Diva positioning. They are now roughly 5ft on tweeter center apart. 3.5R bass panels on the outside edge ~ 2 ft back
Last night I put on Patricia Barber Companion JVC XRCD and was totally blown away as to how realistic the sound stage and sound was
I am curious to flip the 3.5s out front and use the bass woofers from the Swans, though they tend toward tubby-ness
That begs the question as to the result anticipated using no pre-amp at all, e.g. going straight from a CDP to your amplifier(s). If necessary, volume level could be decreased using a Schiit passive controller. If your end results somehow depend upon using 'active' devices, one could be 'right', the other 'wrong' or equally well they might both be 'wrong,' in that they introduce some artifact or distortion into the signal.
This "power' and "authority" business does not ring 'kosher' in my brain.
I have gone 'sans pre' route with numerous passives, including transformer. I always found them lacking in color, weight, and bloom
Absolutely stunning : )
question: how do you like the Argent lenses? I have a chance to pick up a set fairly cheap.
BUY THEM!
Small positioning can make a big difference
