Wow. Not sure where you are moving from, but be prepared for something different. For sure stop in to George's for a schooner and a BBQ plate. Keep an eye out for Ted Nugent and other potentially crazy people. The TexMex is to die for. Too many good places to name one. Hope you like guns, and be sure to bring your own water ... we're a little short on it. Just remember, Fort Worth and Dallas are only an hour away or so - and Austin/San Antonio aren't much more in the other direction.

Yea, this MN boy should be in TX's by the beginning of March 2015...if all goes to plan...
TX's geography is not my strong suit, I had to look up where Waco is??? Depending on where we get the land, from Waco to Temple is where a new facility will be built for a start-up Precast Concrete Manufacturer...we are bringing a patent pending NEW light weight concrete to Market...for us Cement-heads...really exciting stuff...
I will you keep you posted on my progress...
thanks man...
Mark
Ps. I love ALL things Tex-Mex...bring on the BBQ...
have you ever thought of Concret speakers? Timbo from Aus (or similar moniker) on the vynil Asylum has along association with concrete spheres
Rednecks, bible thumpers, corrupt politics and justice system, ungodly heat!
You will love Texas. LOL!
So you can come and visit...we can crank some Foo Fighters and dance naked in the listening room...fun times man...
So Minnesota does not have..."Rednecks, bible thumpers, corrupt politics and justice system, ungodly heat!" with the added benefit of ungodly COLD...LOL...
I have lived in FL and KS...so TX is no big deal...it is a 1-3 year gig...and then I will be moving back to good'ol COLD MN...
Fear not my friend...you can always come find me here...
Thank you again for your care, concern and genuine warmth...it means soooo much to me...
take care
stay warm

I moved here from St. Louis in 1984. It was a decided culture shock for me and the wife for sure. I warmed to it a bit quicker than she did as I'm a half-breed. My mother was born/raised in TX, but dad was from the St. Louis area where I grew up. Hopefully you're not too into winter sports as there is none of that here - which is also a good thing IMO. I do NOT miss the winters up North one iota. Summers are hot, but most folks go from their air-conditioned homes to their air-conditioned cars to their air-conditioned destination. You learn real fast that the best parking space is not necessarily the one closest to the door. The best parking spaces are the ones under any form of shade. And you will come to no longer associate bridges with water crossings. Welcome to Texas and hope all goes well for you in your business endeavor.
Nothing more need be said.
Please feel free to elaborate...
The owner of this new venture is a Baylor Alumni, so have had some fun with her over this last years college football season...
Michigan State beating Baylor in a bowl game this year, was icing on the cake for me...
Thanks
Mark
The Big O was what they used to refer to those big beers as. They even made Big O margaritas at George's.
Not a Baylor fan. But I did enjoy watching the Cowboys take the game from Deee-troit the other night. 18 rows from the field.
Thanks Oz...
How bout dem Cowboys...as a child of the 70's and a born and bread MN Vikings fan...I learned to hate the Cowboys at a young age...Drew Person will never be on my X-mas card list...ugh...
What's it feel like having the Ref's getting you to advance in the playoffs? Must be struggling with allot of guilt...
Now the Packers...I hate them more than the Cowboys...so this week I am a Cowboy fan...the MN verses WI thing runs deep...Gopher/Badger hockey games are epic...
Thanks again Oz...
Mark
Come on man, Fred Arbansas won't be on your list either. Jim Kelly feels Fran's pain. I am originally from Buffalo, but was rooting for the 'boys in Pasadena way back when. As an early Stars fan, we proudly wore our jerseys up in Buffalo during the away games in the finals. And lived. Eventually we all have to let go of how good this and that was back home, and embrace the new life. Tejas now IS home.
Scrambling Fran and Roger the Dodger...those guys ran for their LIVES back in the day...Jim Kelley and Fran are in a pretty exclusive club...Elway was a member for a while, too...
I am actually more upset at Norm Green for taking the MINNESOOOTA NORTH Stars to Dallas...that still chaps me...I was a Hockey player from the Mesabi Iron Range in Northern MN...loved the North Stars as a kid...
Good luck this weekend...
Thanks for being such a good sport...
take care
Mark
Ps. I have always kinda liked Romo as a QB and thought he got a bad rap, BECAUSE he is the boys' QB...Sssshhhhh...don't tell anyone...
