When I first bought Maggies in the mid-90's, at the dealers I asked..."is there a smaller model with the true ribbon???"
Besides the obvious WAF factor...and knowing the MMG and now former MG 12 are there most popular models world wide...because not everyone has the room for the bigger Maggies, (1.7-20.7)...
Now I thought, it might be a function of bass panel to tweeter or something like that...BUT...they came out with the MINI System and Marketed as a 3.7 for your desk??!!??
Why can't come out with something mid-sized with a true ribbon???
IMHO to could become their most popular model, worldwide...
Just really puzzles me...
thanks
Mark
Follow Ups:
Two super MMG sized panels with a true ribbon, and two DWMs
For FIFTY YEARS their standard line is 'bigger panels are better'.
Don't know if it's still on there but the webpage used to flat out say 'Buy the biggest panel you can afford, don't worry about the room, you can fix that later'.
So... a better speaker that isn't also bigger... flies in the face of their religion.

You are correct...they do preach that...
but this would sell, could have a greater profit margin and still be a good value...
thanks

The new issue of the absolute sound has a full page ad showing the .7 speakers.
