Hi.
As I tought, the guy who rebuilt them used the wrong wire, he was sure that Timpany wire was the same... He suggest me that he can use normal copper wire with the correct section to have the same resistivity, but "may be heavy on the mylar"...
Now I'm trying to find an agreement with the italian distributor, but it is quite impossible to convince him to get the wire kit...
Does anybody know if Magnepan has a email address (I've seen that they have only a phone number, on the website, and my spoken english is not so fluent to sustain such a conversation ;), or where I can find the the wire only kit on internet?
Thanks in advance
Marco

Just call the number and they will steer you to where you can get one or send you a kit. The copper wire is a nono, don't do it it will dull the sound. There are a few knowledgeable folks on the forum in Europe and they might help- Lindborg, Gustavson and Davy (UK), ping them or write them a PM.

:( the italian Magnepan importer knows nothing about repairing kit, he spoke about mega coils of cable for repairing services...
I've tried a phone call to Magnepan, but they let me waiting (with music, not from a 20.7)for more than 5 minutes... than the line dropped.
I've tried with mails to service@magnepan.com and info@magnepan.com (found on another forum) but no answer...
Any help or suggestion (of course, another international call, a little bit expensive...)?
Thanks a lot
Marco
Unfortunately I don't have a better idea than calling them by phone.
You can try a cheaper online phone service and call on the PC. It is generally useful.
Thanks, I can try.
But it seems to me a nonsense not using mail, by Magnepan.
Thanks a lot!
