He spent a lot of time and money bringing them to that level (basically everything was refurbished/improved) and they sound quite awesome, especially with the 6 NAT monoblocks he had on them.
I think he is selling them because now that Everest has been climbed he is looking for new challenges.
One of the top 5 systems I have heard in someone's home.

What about so-called *customer support*? (Not that I'm expecting any from Apogee.) Maggie listeners here are often in touch Magnepan for many different 'this and that' type things. Magnepan has often provided service and small parts to me, and all free of charge for speakers I purchased from an authorized dealer 20+ years ago.
What service and what parts are You getting cost free from Magnepan?
The one who succeeded was the one who didn't know it was impossible.
Just a bit nosy, aren't you?
Not wanting some of the bozos here all flooding Magnepan with requests for the same I'll answer your question(s) in a private email. However you've not provided access to your PM.
Unlike yourself my email address is available for all to see and use.
If you address your question to ME, in an email which I'm able to reply to, I'll satisfy your curiosity.
Nosy!? Nah, just curious about the free bees You got from Magnepan as You seem to take that for granted from any other company. hehe
If it's that secret, then I guess it's a personal business deal You have and not a deal You could expect from any other company. That's all.
As a side note, I bought a used BMW 525 -07 from a private owner. I was not amazed by the fact that the BMW retailer never gave me any free stuff at all. Never ever.
Cheers!
PS. I was not aware that no one could e-mail me. That has been taken care of.

How can it be a secret? As I already have written. I'm willing to tell it to you privately. When Magnepan did those things for me it wasn't implied that I could announce it to the world. Perhaps if I had, they wouldn't have extended any help to me.
Yes, why would Magnepan want a customer telling the world what awesome things they do for their customers? That might make people feel more inclined to buy their speakers, or something.
Well like the old saying goes: "variety is the spice of life".
I'm sure they sound quite remarkable.
That is true!

LOL! Not you, though that is also great. I mean that I was listening to Falla's The Three-Cornered Hat, with Ernest Ansermet conducting l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. This damn album is an absolute joy even though my system was misbehaving this evening.
The quality of Ansermet's conducting, along with his involvement in the recording and mastering, produced some incredibly tasty ear candy! Folks would not believe how old these recording are.
Hmmm, I wonder if the (OSR) orchestra's main hall sounds as good as wherever they recorded most of this particular album at.
