I still haven't listened to it as much as I wanted to but I can say that so far I can say that I am impressed. The Magtech definetly out performs the 7bst's I dont know how it would compare to the later models. The sound is much fuller and I hear things I didn't with the Bryston's. The main thing I noticed is that at medium volumes there seems to be more sound, where the Brystons seem to be needed to be cranked up.
I am not an engineer and no way know all the tech ends of things as I am a music lover who wants to get as close to live in sound as possible. I am very happy so far but feel that the mono blocks would be the final stage. The main reason I tried the Sanders is the fact that it was so highly recommmended, I was pretty happy with the Bryston's but thought there was another level and I have to say the Sanders was the next step.
Tim, do you currently have 20.1's if so what are you currently using?

Hi Dan,
It has been a while. Time for an update !!! Can you give us a more detailed review on the 20.1s ???
Thanks,
Tim
Hi Tim;
The Sanders is a keeper, this weekend I did some serious listening and played a couple of my favoite cd's. Then I hooked up the Brystons again and that's when I knew the Sanders wasn't going back. (the Brystons will be listed here soon).
Overall the Sanders has a "bigger" sound, you can tell there is much more power there even though it is only rated at 100wpc more than the Brystons. Even at lower volumes the sound is fuller and instruments and vocals are more pronounced and clearer, it almost like a sheet was lifted from the speakers.
I think I am done for a while as I am more than happy with the current set up that I have, the only other change I may make would be to try the mono's someday when I have exta money,if that ever happens, as Roger stated I would be able to upgrade to them with full credit for the stereo version, this also made my decision easier as that would be the only other change that I think I would ever make.
I am very glad to hear you like the Magtech with the 20s. My puny 1.7s certainly enjoy all that clean power, but I'm thinking ahead to retirement and getting a bigger room with bigger Maggies. I will be aiming at the 20.7s unless there is another choice then.
Have you been leaving the amp turned on? I do, and I believe it sounds best at a fully warmed up operating level.
Hi Tim;
Yes I leave it on,with the switch at the back of the amp it seems that Roger had designed it to be left on. I read your review on the Sanders, very interesting. I feel you will be happy with the Magtech with your 20.7's, I am envious since reading the review posted, in a way I'm disharted to hear that they are that much better but glad for those of you fortunate to move up to them.
I have only compared the Sanders with the Brystons and the McIntosh MC352 that I had had so I am no way an expert but after having the Magtech I am done in the pursut of "the perfect" amp.
Magman, you got a little confused as to who you were responding to, but you answered my question. It was indeed me who posted the review, but I only have 1.7s today. I also went through a Mac amp before the Sanders. No doubt the Sanders is an upgrade on many fronts, and as you say, I've arrived at my last amp as long as I own Maggies. Enjoy.

I'll post after this weekend I haven't had time to really sit and listen for a while. I had planned to get used to the Sanders a little then hook up the Bryston's again to really get a feel for the difference between the two. Keep in mind I am mainly a listener of music and I am no way an engineer.
Hi Dan,
I had 1.6's, then bought 3.6's and sold the 1.6's. Since then I acquired a few more. I have a pair of 20.1's, MC2's CC3, and Minni Mags.
I have several amps that I play with, but am currently actively biamping the 20.1's with a W4S ST-1000 amp (1140 wpc/4ohms) on the bass panels and a Mark Levinson #336 (3570/700/1400 wpc into 8/4/2ohms respectively) on the (mids/tweeters).
I just read about the Sanders amps when I got the W4S ST-1000. I would really like to compare the 2. I have tried other ICEPower ASP-1000 based amps and the W4S sounded the best to me and very close to the ML #336.
Sincerely,
Tim
