Seems to be on the way shortly.
I just called the Maggie Motherland to query about the ribbon tweeter Center Channel that was spoke of earlier this summer.
And was told a couple prototypes are in dealer showrooms and if all goes well they could be taking orders through dealers in about a month.
It's called the CCR and it just might be real because the manual is actually on their web page
http://www.magnepan.com/content/binary/pdf_manuals/manual_CCR.pdf
No official price point has been set yet, but speculation is over $3000.
Magnepan just posted a photo and description on their website of the the new CCR: http://www.magnepan.com/model_CCR
Can someone explain how the ribbon tweeter is mounted in the curved-front enclosure? Also, if the response only goes down to 200Hz, would it actually work as a center speaker in a HT setup without some sort of bass/woofer augmentation, either the Maggie bass panel or something else?
I'm also wondering how it could produce the dynamic range and volume levels needed for a center channel. (I seem to blow out the tweeter in at least one of my 3.6s every year or so, and they are around five feet long.)

From the manual:
"Midbass and bass augmentation of the CCR is provided by the CC Speaker Stand with a built-in Magneplanar bass driver that utilizes the same DiPlanar bass technology as the MG 20.1."
Whoomp, there it is. Buy two "centers" & "stands".
That means if you want to use the CCR without other Maggies as in full range by itself, the you need the stand.
I'm surmising that the 3.6's as fronts should "augment the bass and mid bass" sufficiently.
But I'm running a bad case of stupids this week.

Yikes, 3k for a center that only goes down to 200 HZ?
Good luck on driving that with an AVR!
Some interesting ideas on routing the .1 to the Left/Right in there.
Hmm, not sure at first, but I'd like to hear it.
I'm actually more excited about the DW1 they refer to, my MC1's could use some "woofer" help.
Mmm, Christmas is coming soon:)....

It is a sort of high level connection. My REL B1 uses it.
I went in and read the manual for the CC3 as well.
It seems they are suggesting the same hookup for that as well, but they didn't go into quite the detail.
