I worked with a guy in college whose talent was to drain a 5th of JD for $20. I saw him do it once at a sandbar party. He downed iit in about 30 seconds. A minute later he threw up and passed out. Someone had the bright idea to throw him in the creek to "sober him up". He started floating away and would have drowned. I jumped in with several others and pulled him out of the water. He coughed a bit and took a nap in the sand. He lived to do it again. He was the son of an MD.

Hate to be the buzz kill but I seriously hope that guy gets the help he needs. Saw the other one that followed of the cute French woman who downs an entire 5th of tequila (assuming it was real); now I don't know about you but back when I used to drink I could barely get pass a couple of shots of tequila, much less a whole 5th! Reminds me of the time I picked my cousin up at the airport years ago, on the way home he asked me to swing by the liquor store. I said sure; I figured he'd come out with a beer or two like the good old days but instead he comes out with a 5th of vodka. He cracked it open and offered me the first hit-I declined (it was 9:00 in the morning and I wasn't really a 'clear liquor' drinker back then and don't drink at all these days). Anyway -he turns the entire bottle up and didn't stop until it was bone dry. I'm thinking wtf, here's a guy who just arrived in town and is going to stay with us for the next few days and he just killed a f***ing 5th of vodka like it was water. So I say to him "dude, WTF?" Needless to say his stay didn't last long.
