They are trying to pull the lake down by it's boot straps by 50 ft. Gravity is just another free ride. That's a huge amount of water. Maybe they want to get ready for more rain? Hopefully at least some people will be able to go home soon.

They'll probably have to wait for the storms to come through later this week before being given the all clear.
Oroville is very close to the base of the dam. Not somewhere I would live, if possible.
If you live around that area I have to move from near SF soon. Let me know if you have any suggestions for a blue area maybe within 40 min or so of Sac. out of flooding danger. A pretty, near country setting would be nice. Going up there after the rainy season to check it out. Need very reasonable rent , perfect year round weather, clean air and hopefully the ocean will rise up high enough so I can go to the beach. That should lower the rent in the Bay area. I'm guessing somewhere in Yolo Co. T456
