I'm having a hard time dealing with severe stress and lots of assaults against my mind recently.I won't go into details but it is a fight right now to keep somewhat of a illusion of sanity to the external world.
today I had a conversation with a crack head about where to find prostitutes in Mid Town Manhattan, I've been listening to so much gangster rap we clicked. Turns out he only had $1,000 and the hookers cost 20 times that right near where I work near UN headquarters (constitution free zone). It is a price war with lawless diplomats.
I'm losing it, I'll try to get a good nights rest. Sorry again.

I suppose so.
Or, you could NOT fly to Thailand for the weekend, and just buy a pair of really great speakers.
:)
I have a pair of MMGs, nothing special. I prefer my Gallos.
I'd rather save the $20k, not worth it. Let the diplomats play all they want, they are all pieces of trash.
Bullethead!
New owners with new promises: The protracted wait may eventually be over. I read somewhere else the retail price will be $4500.00. Given that, I seriously doubt the quality level will be to the high standard of the Ref 3.5 it replaces.
I'll only get them as I think about it if they have a higher sensitivity. Thank you for the info.
Looks like ceramic woofer, I like the stand/spikes too.
I'll have to see, one thing is if it is single voice coil for woofer and 89db or higher sensitivity I'll buy it immediately.
By the way the reason the 3.5s were so much was because of a fabrication error with the stands at the factory, that cost had to be included in the Refs, I paid $4k, originally they were $6k, I picked up a pair as they were being discontinued. $4,500 isn't bad but it would have to be an evolution. We'll see, I appreciate it.
Here is a more comprehensive view of my system environment.
I also believe you helped me when I was searching for a new speaker, I believe you might have been one of the people to recommend the Ref 3.5that's why I like this message board, help l get from people like you when it comes time to pull the trigger.
You have a great setup, enjoy.
here's my system. as you can see I have the covers on them. they do look like burqas LOL!

The dual voice coil woofer is no longer available per #3314, the 14th post down, in the forum link. Unless they find another supplier you may get your single coil woofer at a higher efficiency rating.
I am aware the most expensive part to fabricate was that aluminum stalk. There were flaws in the first production run. Gallo had to absorb the costs and the retail was originally $6k as a result.
I bought my pair new in June 2010 when the model was first introduced. I found a generous dealer locally who charged me only $3600.00. It was a bargain I could not refuse.
I have no idea what I would ever get to replace these without spending an excessive amount of money. The majority of loudspeakers are the same theme regardless of cost. They all have a port or tube in a rectangular box, a dome tweeter, metal or fabric, maybe a fragile ribbon tweeter and a midrange driver much too large for the frequencies it is intended to reproduce, six inches or more. Nothing out there comes close to that CDT unit for dispersion, clarity, range and unlimited power handling.
I am quite happy keeping the Ref 3.5's. I would only wish for perhaps a 1/2 octave more bass. I thought they might incorporate twin woofers side by side or one above the other in a new larger model. It does not look like that will happen.
I had Avalon Eidolons for five years I bought new and I do not feel I am missing much with the Ref 3.5's.
Kant didn't foresee this calamity.
Icke proves these "diplomats" are actually repitilian hybrids and not human however. Kant didn't foresee that either. :)
A reptile prostitute would have a lot of nerve charging those prices :)
Most of them are reptiles but the average "John" would never know it. That's how good they can be. The closer to the UN the more reptilian they get. Don't say that you weren't warned.
Icke is right!!!!
Cheers,
SB
That all is just the start of going down the rabbit hole.
At the risk of this post getting censored I will not say anything else.
:)
Yeah, anytime anywhere near a major government/diplomat area, the prices for everything go through the roof. Example: One block from the Beau Rivage hotel in Geneve, Switzerland, there's a store which sells Yves St. Laurent sneakers for $700. My son's sneakers, which are nearly identical, were about $30 at Academy Sports in Dallas. Oh, and, the Beau Rivage prices start at about $500 for a "simple" room without free breakfast, and go up to about $5,000 (breakfast included).
My thought is that a lot more international work would get done more quickly if representatives had to stay at the local equivalent of the Motel 6 or Comfort Inn. Can y'all say "expense account"?

There are guys in the SF bay area who...
Never mind.
:)
I had a 15 day short term treatment, I don't like to make big deals about what would seem irrelevant, but I have PTSD from work. The doctor was very worried about me, hence the prescription. After reading about the bad things that happen to people's brains over long term treatment I stopped and my doctor is on board.
" but I have PTSD from work." Yeah? Who doesn't? Better than PTSD from being unemployed. Dr. Tweaker says go back on your favorite sedative herbs and stay with it, multiple times a day over a long time. No news. Pizza three times a day. T456

Of course the U.N area has price inflation, for many years it has been where the diplomat nephews of third world Dictators go to spend the $Billions they siphon from the guilt-ridden Group of 8.
No move to oust the UN from Manhattan or cut our contribution will ever succeed because the managements of "21", Christ Cella, Il Vagabondo, Peter Luger etc, would rise up and quit comping Congressmen and Senators.

In the mid-Eighties it was a favorite along with the Country Western bar up that way and Heavenly Pig on the Avenue, Second?
After a hard day of inventing new and riskier mortgage bond strategies Bocce Ball and Jack was just what was needed. One night they kept calling our upstairs table but we continued drinking and playing. Eventually the ball somehow went up and over the 10' wire fence, landing near the bar. No one was amused and we were asked to leave.
no comment.
