As a former owner. ...the 69 was the deal. After that Jimmy Carters EPA forced lower emissions thus the choked down 350. Fuck the EPA

I like the style of those pre-1970's Camaros. The more recent retro redo, or whatever you might call it, are pretty nice too.... especially when they downsized it again just a year or two ago.
Yes, they're out of control with abuse of power and need to be reined in. Holding land ransom from rightful owners with 'endangered species' B.S. and other schenanigans. They polluted our Animas river with toxic waste water spill. Promised to pay Colorado for damages, now backing out of their promise. Both our (D) and (R) congressmen are going after them.
The epa is allowing current engines with 600 plus horsepower.
True but out of context....
An easy example of what I am talking about...MB had to go from a 4.5L to a 5.5 L to try and get similar performance due to requirements for smog control.
The 69 engines had a newly required Smog Pump which was he first thing bypassed after leaving the dealers lot. By 1972 one literally had to have a 454 to get the same performance as a 1968 350.
What really blows my mind is several European manufacturers are getting over 500 HP out of a 2L 4 banger!

Some with the 302 and some with the 350.
