Using this desktop PC is terrible. Its a clean install of 10 but they installed Norton Security Suite and it only has 4 gigs of RAM. The browser is set to delete all cookies when you close it. But the browser crawls due to Norton. Everything else is OK and the Internet connection is decent 5 megs down 3 up. Antivirus crap especially Norton and McAfee slows machines down.
My $50 tablet kicks this machines butt on the same Internet connection.

Follow Ups:
Get a chromebook, I never have those problems.
It was not my computer. If it was there would be no problem because Norton wouldn't be on it. I use Wise 365, Proxomitron,Open DNS among other tools. I fix between 25-50 PCs and tablets a year. Even in the nursing/rehab facility.I'm no fan of Chromebooks either after using a Few.Lmited software with that OS.

Agreed-
there are many, many background info/apps working to slow down progress.
Scanning every photo on every webpage it opens. Remove Norton or McAfee much better. But 10 does suck. It needs to be set up properly where you basically opt out of everything.

is a simple operating system for home use. Windows and Apple are both waaay too large, fat and complex (and therefore unreliable) for what most of us do most of the time. Heck, I still use WordPerfect 5.1 and Word 97 for all of my word processing needs, and even they have features which I've never touched. I've got another system (this one, running XP) where wuauclt.exe won't go away and keeps wearing out my hard drive doing who knows what!
