it is just DNS servers, set yours to google in your router and you are golden.
Not a chance I'd ever intentionally direct network traffic to Google, which is one of (if not the most) intrusive spy platforms in existence. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I detest Google and their clandestine oozing into everything anyone does online.
Google has done some great things, I trust them. Sure their holding company owns a terminator robot company called Boston Dynamics, I don't see Arnold taking me out when I pay Google every month for YouTube Red, Google Music and Google Drive, I am also a proud owner of two android tablets and a Google phone, along with their Pixel 2 high end Chromebook that is outstanding :)I am a fan.

... your acceptance of Google's privacy invasive practices surprises me the most. :)
I use the Google for almost everything, also don't forget they own most of the pipes of the infrastructure which was dark fiber in the 90s.
The attack is not on caching DNS Servers used by clients, it's on the Dyn nameservers that do DNS name resolution for a number of very popular domains. Changing your caching DNS server(s) will do nothing to address such a problem.
I misread what happened, I thought the problem was related to the consumer not the enterprise.
Top of the google news page where I'm at.
Of course that doesn't translate to where you are.
The main point of my post however is that Audio Asylum is
probably not a "major" website, thusly theoretically immune
to the attack.
Yea for AA.

We had an issue after 12:47 PM where we didn't get any posts until I did a hard boot about 1:30 PM and saw a ping on a server down. I might have noticed earlier, except I went out for lunch and was hanging around with the Tic Toc Doc who fixed my rare 1964 Tokyo Olympic Seiko watch for all of $30 for a new crystal. It had stopped auto-winding because a screw had come loose. Sadly, his watchmaker is 93 and he's 76. I'm not sure how long I can stay analog.
But, yes, something happened. It could even have been the NSA on a false flag. Who can you trust?

I had a problem on my cell phone this morning reading zerohedge.com about the leaked private presidential emails (obama), at work I didn't have any problems.
I'm looking for an email provider now, my friend recommended fastmail but I have problems that they are in .au. I think of guys in florescent orange hats cutting wires and shooting satellites out.
:)
...or "it" has begun!
Or even sing: "We've Only Just Begun".

I'll have dig that out and give it a listen.
