Too bad that the various governmental agencies didn't have the foresight to rebuild the bridge to accommodate future traffic at 9 am.
A "golden" opportunity missed.

Rush hour starts now about 5am.
We've needed another bridge across the bay for years and it's only going to get worse.
BART - public transit - is bursting at the seams.
It was last November. I was on my Great Bay Area Audio Adventure. At 8:05 am, I left my Berkeley hotel to go to South San Francisco to meet Dave at McCune Audio/Video/Lighting (mccune.com), for a 9 am tour. I figured it'd take maybe 30-45 minutes to go 15 miles. Was I wrong!! I called him at about 8:50 to say that I was almost to the toll booth to go over the Bay Bridge. He said, and I quote: "OK, I'll see you in about an hour." Well, I drove into their parking lot at... 9:50.
Good thing he's a nice guy!
