... although I've only heard some excerpts on the radio.
Dylan, like so many old fogey rockers, has become more of a "novelty act" than anything else. At least for me.
I am a huge Dylan fan but I would never buy a Christmas album of his because I don't like holiday music. I disagree that he is a novelty act if you have listened to any of his material since Time Out of Mind you will see he has entered a new creative period that rivals anything he has done since the 60's.

I tend to like a lot of popular "seasonal" music and find some of it to be fairly high quality and worthy of a listen in any season. However............the few tracks of the Christmas album I've listened to weren't very pleasant with Dylan kinda snarling thru the lyrics....almost as if the whole thing was an insider's joke. Thanks but no-thanks.
Hey, if you like Christmas music, you outta pick up Harry Connick's Christmas CD from about 15 years ago. My good buddy Roger Ingram (rogeringram.com) was playing lead trumpet. Yeah, yeah, shameless plug.
