Very nice pic. I've also noticed the "boss bird" behavior. Dive bombing other birds at the feeder, seemingly coming out of no-where. I find them fascinating to watch.
Follow Ups:
I FOUND my shot of the 3 stooges. Now I need to actually find the location of the file.
These guys bickered over the feed for WEEKS. You'd think they'd get to be buddies or something.
Different species, too. SoCal has 2 or 3 year round Hummers.
Too much is never enough
Really cool shot. Yesterday I saw one fly up to within 3 feet of the window and hover there for several seconds as if it were peeking-in, then away it flew. I suspect it saw reflection of itself in the glass and wanted to intimidate the intruder.
Cats do the same thing. When kittens, they get ALL EXCITED over mirrors. They paw and fight themselves.
They learn and than don't LOOK any more.
Dogs are apparently smart enough to recognize themselves.
Too much is never enough
