I had a Grand Prix from that era. It was a great car. Ran like a bat from hell, and handled well. Finally blew a head gasket at 250K miles.
and when it was put in the Buick Grand National GNX with a turbo,it stomped most everything its path from 0 to 100 including Porsches at that time and this was in a 3700lb car.

I had one in the late 80's - and just googled the specs - 1988 GM Holden VN Commodore.
V6 127kW
The killer - Weight - 1,310kg
0-100kmh in 7.7 sec
Power not brilliant but the low weight gives pretty respectable acceleration for a family sedan in the old days.
