I think you posted too soon about the markets being calm. As of this moment, the DJIA is down 526 pts.

Now with the Dow at 17K 526 is no big deal nor was the final number around 600. 3% and a knee jerk at that. There was and is no reason to shutter if when the Brits leave the EU. They never converted to the Euro. What really changes? The EU and Euro already have bigger issues.

Look at Germany, France, and Japan. The one day drop may not seem like that big of a deal but the uncertainty and implications are huge. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm looking for a buying opportunity too. Not so much in individual stocks but in shifting a couple 401K mutual funds. I was barely nicked by this drop, less than 0.5%. I need markets to plumet for several days before it's worth my while to make any changes.
It's interesting that both France and Germany were down substantially more than Britain.
:)
Ha! You apparently don't remember October 1987.
600 points on the Dow 30 was really something then. Not so much today.
:)
really? 550 points? that's nothing. I was hoping for 10,000 points, then my anti prosperity play would pay off, as would me MRE supply.
