It looks like a V6 but it's a 4 banger..

A friend just took delivery of a AMG CLA45.
280kw and around 460Nm - world record output from a 2 litre.
Apparently it runs 26 psi of boost.
Awesome!

I am not a fan of 4 and 6 cylinder motors. Mainly due to their sound. I guess I need to get over it. The next generation Corvette will have 6 for the leaks I have read.
"I am not a fan of 4 and 6 cylinder motors. Mainly due to their sound."No worries. They can tailor the sound thru DSP and pipe it into your vehicle's audio system. ;-)
I was getting 384 Ft lbs of torque at the wheels from my straight six with a simple ECU software upgrade and sport exhaust. Never had a problem with it and maintained decent gas mileage if I kept my foot off it.

Couldn't hardly get those numberes from 8's not too far back.
OK, I guess it was far back.
Using the word 'squeezed' may not be right. The 4-blocks out there are reportedly very strong; built for those stresses, not just over-pumped economy engines made for fast sales, which used to be the case.
You aren't just a kidding..Go back to the early 70s and a only a big block V8 would hammer that kind of torque not at the wheels. Of course if you took a 460 Ford and put multi-port fuel injection and and twin turbos, and a host of other upgrades, you would be wailing.
