I might accept that argument if not for the fact that before the iPhone came out nobody considered Mac worth hacking. Not enough people used them outside of public schools. But now, with the company revived and the entire Mac product line reinvigorated, they represent a tasty new, and sizable target. I don't wish ill on Mac users. I like Apple products, the family owns six of them and they outnumber the PCs in our home 2:1. I guess only time will tell, but that report of the Mac ransomware virus ought give rise to real concern.

One of the reasons Macs are hard to crack is because they don't license their software to every bozo in the tech world..Also,the system is a closed system and the govt didn't worry about having an opening into the system but now that they are popular, they want that access and if they get it,that will be a problem. This is one of reasons we pay 2 and 3 times the price for a Mac vs a PC because we want that peace of mind we won't be hacked..
A friend you get for nothing,an enemy has to be bought
I hope you're right, Mike. And you certainly are with respect to the inherent things Apple has done to deter it, but my fear is that with better traps come faster mice and the growth in popularity of Apple products has made them every bit as tempting a target as PCs. The real answer, whether PC or Mac, is to stay vigilant and view every link or attachment with suspicion - and use protection.
I'd tend to agree that it's only a matter of time. Every lock has a "key".
and there was a big deal over it..

Or so they say.
If they have had the ability to crack the iphone for a while now (as I suspect they have), they wouldn't want us to know about it. Better to set up a front story and pretend that they had to pay an outsider to do the cracking...
