So, to be fair, I was in your camp until very recently. So horribly burned and disfigured by win8 that I swore I wouldn't get fooled again until ... last week the daughters new machine showed up with 10 on it. After living with it now for a week+, I do NOT know what I was afraid of. It's actually really good. A great mix of the familiar and the new. Nothing like that abortion of a POS win8 was. Not even close. Stable, smart, fast and intuitive. I'm going to put it on all my other machines.

My touchpad not as responsive, it takes several "touches" for it to activate whatever I'm "touching" onIn Excel, if I had, say, 4 files open and was working on one, I could move the cursor over the excel logo on the bottom of my screen, and I could see the 3 that aren't currently on the screen. I could them call up another file immediately by clicking on it. Now, I see only the file I'm working on. The other 3 are completely hidden. I have to close the file I'm working on to even see whichever one pops up to take its place. This is an absolute deal killer for me as I work in Excel all day and always have numerous files open relating to the current "project" (for lack of a better word). I'll seek help online as I can't believe they've given up that very fundamental functionality that power spreadsheet users MUST have.

Take look at task bar options (right click on the task bar). There's a setting that turns off the stacking of app icons on the task bar - same as in win7. And hit settings off the start button. Select the tile for hardware/apps (or something like that - don't have the machine handy doing this from memory). Down at the bottom of the resulting screen there's a link to the familiar old control panel where you can adjust your touch pad. Or you can do same thing through that hardware/apps tile.
