Mets fans just booed Matt Harvey as he left the mound after the Nats hung nine runs on him in less than three innings. Uh hello! You don't win the east last year and make it to the World Series without him! Classless display by spoiled brats.

Koufax, Ryan, Seaver, Maddux, Clemens, Johnson, Smoltz, Glavine, Sutton, Blyleven, Palmer, Kershaw, Morris, Scherzer.................All have had nights where they were "touched up" and hit the showers early. Big league hitters get paid big $$$$ to hit.
Typical fickle New York crowd.

Has there ever been a truly great pitcher who didn't have the occasional off night?
I'm a life-long Mets fan and will readily admit, that like many Red Sox and Patriots fans, a lot of NY fans are big cry babies.
Speaking of Seaver ...he's my all-time favorite ball player. A great guy on and off the field.
30 some odd years ago, on a date with my now ex, we were driving down Greenwich Avenue in Greenwich, CT (where Tom lives) and I spotted him trying to cross the street. He had a Mets cap on and a newspaper under his arm. No one was stopping for him.
When I reached him I stopped and waved him across. He tipped his hat and I waved and said "...you're welcome, Tom".
My ex said "...you know that guy?"
I said "...sure, we go way back ...since about '67."
Dean.

Nice story. He is a class act.
