a boat almost that large. I remember him telling about one time he took it to Hawaii and when he filled up the fuel tanks the bill was $42,000.00u.s. I think I'll stick with the hobbies and bad habits I have.
At today's $3 a gallon it would be $6600 (!) to fill her 2200 gallon total capacity.
or the circumstances. I just remember him complaining about spending 42,000 on fuel.I remember telling him, isn't that like buying a big old Cadillac, side-swiping a light post in the parking lot, and then complaining because the car is too wide.
same here, I worked with a doc up in the bay area during the 90's who had a similar boat, he'd throw great parties on it but it'd never leave the bay.
Two 12 cyl. 2-stroke diesels - that will drink diesel - few gallons/hour...
Happy Listening
Although they seem to be talking about the larger 12-92's
the DD _V71 & 72 were phased out with the desire to get all motors to a 4-stroke - more complete combustion- there were some holdouts - and the 71s and 72s were solid engines-
that thread is funny - especially the guy who wants Gallons per Mile - instead of the GPH/M as it is usually calculated for those engines...
It would be a fun boat to have - but I'd rather have a sailboat if I could afford either....
Happy Listening
And it would sound pretty awesome at full throttle.
No listening room required ;-)
Cheers,
