You know what's on this weekend in Nowra?
Not too far from Canberra ....
It is the first show for Australia's only flying FW-190.
Cheers,
John K
Follow Ups:
Trisha and I are just now back from 4 days of day-walking in the Snowy Mountains. See above/There remains some doubt about the veracity of the FW190's originality. BMW 801s are rare.
We booked for this about 3? weeks back.
I will be even more sunburned, than now, when I get back.

The air scoop on the top behind the blades is the giveaway. Made a European company. I'll have to check the company when I get back home.
All FW-190 had good old fashioned synchronised machine guns there - but the ports and bulges varied depending on the type of guns.
Cheers,
John K
According to this FB page it is a FlugWerk replica using some original parts but a soviet ASh-82 engine is replacing the original BMW 801.

There is only one flight worthy original Fw190, in operation today. Flying Heritage Collection model A-5.
Still annoyed that I missed the Messerschmidt Swallow replica when it came to the Berlin air show in '06.
I won't be making it - I've been a few times in the past - it's a great show!
I haven't heard about the FW-190 authenticity issues.
Maybe it's a Wirraway with a sneaky single seat cut and shut on the cockpit :-)
Cheers,
John K
