Lens "speed", or light-gathering diameter, is usually less with macros, which can hinder low-light photography.
And other stuff. May be harder to focus at non-macro distances because of the closeup threading. Check out the link info.
Follow Ups:
One has the standard lens (18-55mm). The other the macro and telephoto lens.
Another macro shot of posts and heater wire inside Bendix 5992. Prolly use the macro mostly for shots of tube guts (tube porn).

you can remotely connect to an Ipad from a camera and focus on a large screen. I have not done this but may do so....
