On my BMWs and on my granddaughter's Mercedes the motor is attached to the regulator with screws. I have never had occasion to replace a motor, however I have replaced more regulators than I would have wanted to. Darn regulator crapped out in my e30 when I was about to get on an airplane. That put some stress into my life.

I believe that is the same for the Chrysler. That begs another question. How do I know if the regulator needs to be replaced?

Hi Volunteer,
You will know! The glass will likely be crooked in the frame and may even fall into the door.

That's good. None of that is happening so a motor replacement should be sufficient.

If you press on the switch and it takes a moment for the window to raise or lower, the pivots points and rivets are prolly worn out. MB used to use harden steel rivets in soft metal pivots. The regulator arms would wear out, while the rivets showed no wear.
You'd need to drill out the pivot points and put in larger diameter rivets or bolts.
