Every car I've worked on requires removing the regulator to get to the motor. Some are riveted together. So, to replace the motor you'll need a rivet kit or substitute screw and nut setup.
What kinda car are you working on?

I suspected as much. Just trying to cut down on the scope of the job. There is insignificant cost savings between a motor and a motor/regulator combo.

This is a tedious job. You need to somehow keep the window up, while pulling the regulator-motor. Removing the door panel, without damaging the holders, can be a pain.
Good luck!
