A 2014-build BackDraft Racing Cobra body & chassis with a 379 cu in (6.2 ltr) V8 (of indeterminate origin but believed to be a Ford Boss unit) bored out to 427 cu in (7.0 ltr). Gearbox is a manual transmission (not sure of make or configuration).Under the hood, the rocker covers all bear the original "Cobra" inscriptions although these are only just visible below the overhang of the air-filter atop the 4-barrel Holley carb. All is pristine and shiny...
The body's paint-scheme is black with two fore-to-aft scarlet strips down the centre-line. Upholstery is leather but in a somewhat garish orange colour.
The vehicle has just over 250m on the odometer (if it can be believed) and is in excellent condition.
The owner is in his early-to-mid thirties and has hankered after a Cobra since his late teens. (That takes care of "Motive").
His business (an internet-based PC reseller) has done very well (Which takes care of "Means")
This particular car recently came on the market (and that quietly took care of "Opportunity").
So, with "Means", "Motive" and "Opportunity" all in place, Voila! One new Cobra owner... He is over the moon.
Good luck to him, say I - while not quite my cup of tea - it is certainly his.
(As I rapidly approach 70 years of age, my priorities in "an ideal vehicle" have shifted to the point where a mid-to-late-1960s technology-based open roadster with a brute of an engine exhausting via twin straight-through pipes and lacking such niceties as traction control, ABS braking, air-conditioning, fuel-efficiency, etc. just wouldn't do it for me).
Okay - I guess I really am approaching 70 years of age... :)

Now that is the car of the day. Gorgeous simple lines, loads of power... one of my all time faves.
Yes, somebody needs to build some on a good chassis/drivetrain. Independent rear, fuel injection,. etc. as a minimum.
Small and sensible is what we'll be buying when we replace the aging Camry.
Nice car though!

I'd take it to the track, to get used to the power-to-weight in that brute. Without traction nannies, you can get into a world of hurt --- in a micro-second --- with all that torque.
Brakes and suspension updated to 21th Century standards? It could actually be a nice daily driver, if the cam setup isn't too hot. And the weather permits.
Thanks, for the post!

A german car mag once tested the one built by AC.
They said it was easier to drive than a VW Golf at the time (late '80s).
It looks like they have done a nice job of replicating a legend. Lets hope he does not kill himself before mastering it.
Heck, I'm not quite 60 and I haven't had any use for a car like that one for a long time.
It's good to see you posting again.
Problem with these kind of cars is that when you have use for them you can't afford them and when you can afford them and buy one everybody is laughing behind your back while mumbling something about limp appendages.
A much more honorable form of motoring for the well to do is shown in this short video.
Happy Sunday
I think I'd rather brave the desert in a 30 year old Lamborghini.
