Say what?It hasn't been a good day for the top tier. Neither Ohio St or Michigan St looked like the number 1 and 2 teams and both just barely won over unranked teams.
Then you have #8 Georgia getting totally blown out at home by Alabama.
And now UCLA is down, 9-0 to Arizona St, a team that SC beat on the road 42-14. Although it's only early 2nd quarter, so I think UCLA will pull it out. But, they did lose several key defensive players last week and Miles Jack for the season
EDIT: I forgot #6 Notre Dame down 14-3 to Clemson. I haven't been impressed with Notre Dame at all with narrow wins over weak opponents. It all points to the ridiculousness of the preseason polls. Teams stay where they are until they lose and the resume doesn't matter as to who they beat and how they win.
Still, Floriduh?

I am just not impressed with Ohio State at this point except for one player. Ezekliel Elliott.
As I noted last week on here, Michigan State is the most overrated team in the Top 25. They were fortunate to beat Purdue yesterday (24-21). Purdue is 1-4 and has yet to record a win against an FBS 1-A team. Their lone victory was over an FCS 1-AA team and even that game was close for 3 quarters. The Boilers have lost to Marshall, Bowling Green, and were crushed by Virginia Tech; yet MSU struggled to beat Purdue while playing at home.
That said, it's obvious UCLA was vastly overrated. They were lucky to have beaten BYU and had no answer for ASU last night, a team that had dropped out of the Top 40 and was 2-2 before last night's win. Notre Dame gave Clemson more of a tussle than I thought they would. Surprising, given the fact the game was at Clemson and ND lost their QB to a season ending injury recently.

And Georgia? Blow out at home? Yet another pretender from the SEC.

ASU stopped the running game.
performance. Looks like LSU, 'bama, and A&M are the conference's powers with Floriduh in the mix as well. I like Utah in the Pac Teens conf. tho I'm gonna root for your Trojans now that Oregone is gone.

"And Georgia? Blow out at home?"
The difference being that Bama is rated while ASU isn't. In fairness, ASU did record a 14 point win, earlier this season, over perennial powerhouse Cal Poly. ~:)
Seems to be the hardest to figure out where the standings will be in late November.
Northwestern might be better than first thought. We will see next week against Michigan.
OU is much better, than early predictions.
Aren't you talking Oklahoma?
Yeah, at least they play some defense. We'll see when they hit the gauntlet of Baylor, TCU and OK St three weeks in a row in November. And my Cowboys, daughter's alma mater, are 5-0 with an unimpressive win over a hapless Texas.
Northwestern and Michigan both look good and play next week. That should be a good one. Iowa knocked off Wisconsin too and plays NW the next week.

As for Floriduh, new, highly thought of coach and finally, a decent, and healthy qb. Apparently they're the real power in the east. Of course that'll all go to Hell when they play LSU in 2 few weeks.
Georgia apparently has NO qb. Lambert's about the worst thing I've seen behind center since Billy (what's a spiral??) Kilmer was taking snaps for the Saints in 1968.
UCLA, wow, I knew they'd have a hard time against ASU but never saw a loss coming.
This ND game is a nail biter.

UCLA was a shock. Losing Miles Jack for the season and a few other defensive starters clearly cost them, but they never got their run game going on offense either.
I'll be a LSU fan until you hit the playoffs. Knock off Floriduh and then you only have to take on 'Bama and Ole Miss on the road and finish with A&M. The worse outcome would be two 1 loss teams in the SEC West. Let's hope that A&M finishes off 'Bama in two weeks and takes that scenario out of the picture.

Good for us LSU fans I guess, hope he stays healthy and has an outstanding NFL career.
