I live in SoCal.
We had an infestation in the house AND a hive in a back yard tree. Cost several hundred to rid us of both.
Later, I found bees clustering in a bush in the front yard. Got a volunteer beekeeper from the loacl monestary to come get 'em. I was informormed that over half the hives in SoCal were 'AFricanized'. But they do not defended in some circumstances, like when they are on the move.
No further problems.
Too much is never enough
I am far removed from that area. Bees love me, we have two hives just a hummin'
Yes they do !
They're following you North :)
lots of killin' to do there before they shuffle up here.
My brother has 40 hives.
A friend of many decades lives a block away, he has hives and knows how to speak to them (the bee whisperer). He cares for my herd and gets half the honey. Fine with me, beats store bought and they help with my apple and plums trees I think...
There cool creature's for sure
In north central Wi. its work to winter them over.
You're in north central WI?
As in, for example, Wausau? (As if that's an actual city.)
I was born and raised in Oshkosh, and goofed off in college in Green Bay. Ok, I've said enough.
:)
Wausau is not an actual city, but its trying to become one.
We have three brew pubs, so, there's a start.
Smiles
only 4 inches of snow a year...no real hard freezes. We have way more birds in number and in variety than we did at 4000 feet. And, at this time of year the smell of colitas abounds...
