The 612 Scaglietti is the only Ferrari of the last 20 or 30 years I'd like to own.
(Still hasn't got a space in my dream garage though.)
Regarding the Audi, ugly though it is, I'm not sure what the writer means by "didn't find much competition success either".
In it's 3 year lifespan it finished the World Rally Championship in 1st, 2nd and 4th beaten only by the insane Peugeot 205 T16 and Lancia Delta S4. Group B was banned after the '86 season after a number of spectators and drivers were killed.
Either way it was never meant as a supercar for sale. Audi had to build a number of road-legal cars so they could go racing legally, many of which they simply gave away to high-profile people like the then sailboard world champion Robby Naish.
As The Stones would say, "Paint it Black.
It's well named.
and be more right.
Just saying.

I'm not seeing cars or trucks losing points in reviews under that category.

No brakes worth talking about, vague steering, and we won't mention s--------n OR h------g.
LOTS of power but.

Right you are, and I can remember one two-stroke 3 cylinder Japanese motorcycle from about the same period that also matches your description.
The one that made me face up that I just didn't have it for bikes!
'exciting' doesn't quite tell the whole truth.

No suspension, inadequate brakes, poor balance. An engine capable of pushing the thing to 110+ MPH (60BHP). Scariest ride I ever had.
Ironically, my 1992 Honda CR500R dirt bike made 52BHP. It was one of the best bikes I ever rode.
I rode a borrowed Mach III for about 200 meters. Down the alley……U-Turn and back.
It frightened me just idling along in 1st and 2nd.
From about the same timeframe, give me one of the Yamaha 350 or 400 CC 2-stroke twins. I think those were the last street 2-stokes on sale in the States and continued in Europe for a few more years.
Too much is never enough
Or brakes!
Cheers,
John K
