... Totally dislike ethanol.
They will run but they just aren't the same.
I have lots of small petrol engines, maybe a dozen or so, I run both the 2 strokes and the 4 strokes with 98 premium fuel and top of the line synthetic oil in the 4 strokes.
They rarely let me down or break.

...It is a good product.
In my area Shell & BP were offering 91 octane fuel with at least 10% ethanol. (I've never used it) However about 12 months ago the local Shell station dropped the ethanol and offered 91,95 or 98 octane fuel, all with NO ethanol added. I don't think Caltex offers it at all (but I'm not sure)
About 2 months ago the local large BP stations also dropped ethanol from their line up.
One of the problems with ethanol is it does not store very well and in small carburettors that aren't used all the time you get condensation which leaves all sorts of contaminated residue in the carby and fuel lines. It also seems to promote slight oxidation on carbies and in & around fuel pumps.
I would think the most unsuitable use of ethanol is using it in garden tools like mowers, chainsaws, mulches, line trimmers, blowers, pumps etc. Of course if that is all that is sold near by it makes it unavoidable. I assume you have had good luck with Sta-bil? I think it would be helpful stopping condensation and residue.
I use a fuel stabiliser in diesel but I rarely add anything to petrol but I do use premium petrol.
Cheers.
