I think Kubrick was a genius and turned what was a so-so novel into a brilliant movie.

As a reader of the novel (not the writer) I think Kubrick nailed it and then some.
I enjoy a great deal of SK's writings, but feel that he should distance himself from the movie/visual aspect of anything he writes.
My favorite SK novel is "IT" (recently finished "Doctor Sleep" which was pretty good).
to Stand By Me and The Shining. I had to look him up on IMDB but I knew he had some other good ones, amongst all the VERY bad ones. The Langoliers anyone?
