They have flat6 engines but in the Cayman and Boxster it is mid-mounted while in the 911 it is rear-mounted.

Ah, didn't know the motor position changed. Thanks for the info. I have driven 911's. I currently own a C6 Corvette.
A lot of ppl that have owned both Caymans or Boxsters and 911s, think that the mid-engine models are a more nimble. Esp during everyday driving.
After driving cars that are closer to 50/50 front/rear weight distribution, I tend to agree. Some handle similar to a good road bike. Good throttle input during cornering. Better road feel. In general.
I would love to test drive that Cayman GT4.

From what I hear (haven't checked myself) a mid-engined car is easier to drive quick while a rear-engined 911 is easier to drive fast.
Rear-engined cars give a lot more warning before something goes wrong and then it is easier to catch while mid-engined ones give very little when they are approaching the limits of adhesion.
All that said if I had enough spare cash for a 911 GT3 I'd buy a Cayman GT4 and have it re-bodied by Zagato (might not be enough spare cash but one can dream!).
