2 inch slices of sourdough. add the milk, sugar, cinnamon , vanilla and nutmeg. Place in fridge overnight and fry in a skillet in the AM.
Butter and topping of your choice.
It comes out of the fridge looking like a custard.
It goes down the gullet tasting like nirvana.

We've been enjoying only a few months, but I'll never go back to old way of flopping the bread in and out of a bowl and frying it. The overnight soak and baking makes it ever so much better...

what you do with them is soak the fries in water for 3 days, change the water a few times. Then cook 'em....Thanks to my Cajun Grandmother once again.
Best place for having fries outside of home, 5 Guys Burgers.
the very best to use ...because of it's high smoke point is...Peanut oil.
No oil, it's got to be beef drippings or lard.
And they need to be cooked twice.
