I'm heading to spring training (Florida) in a couple of days for 2 weeks of baseball.
I'll have the whole family along, but I suspect that my 11 year son and I will be attending most of the games while my wife and daughter do the beach and shopping thing.
We plan to visit the Twins, Bo Sox, Nats, Tigers, Astros, Phillies, and Yankees. We'll do Busch Gardens and a couple other things, but there will be no Disney World - Praise be to God!
My son lives, eats, and breathes baseball so it should be a blast and a nice change to the sub zero temps we have had in Minnesota.

Looks like the weather should be improving for you compared to the last few weeks, so it should be a great time. As much as upper 50s to lower 60s is better than what you've been dealing with, I assume you'll enjoy the predicted upper 70s to low 80s quite a bit more!
We're in Ormond Beach, just north of Daytona Beach, for the winters, and it's not a bad deal.
Go Red Sox! ;-)

I used to take my dad every year-he passed in 2009 and this will be our first trip back since then. I'm excited about the potential of my beloved Padres this year!
Have a great time in Florida.
My son and I had a great time and have already made a pact to return next year.

Great story.
I hope I have as many springs baseball games with my son as you had with your Dad.
I'm actually doing a little recon mission - looking at retirement homes.
Although it's a ways off, I want to hit the ground running.
If all goes as planned I will be punching out of the work force in 8 1/2 years - 55 is the new 70!

I'm 55, putting the max into the 403b, as is my wife. A couple of treasured coworkers that I've worked with for 17 years retired in December, and I find myself envious of them both. If all goes well I'm packing it in at 60.
If you can swing it financially, you COULD do a 72t distribution. See your financial advisor for the straight poop on this.
Rules include 5year minimum OR to age 59 1/2 whichever is longer.
If you just HATE your job, you can take a few slow years and 'bridge' to retirement with this technique. THAN, file for SS and let your IRA just SIT IDLE and replenish.
Your tax pro will tell you the distribution rules / limits and conditions.
Too much is never enough
Hoped to be able to travel, but it's not in the cards. Anyway, I can't find your email and your aa link doesnt allow it, so could you email me through the aa emailer? I hope Kemp has a great year.

I'm jealous! I've been three times to Florida and want to go to Arizona. I have so many great stories about those visits. Being so close to the teams in the small stadiums is great. I talked to Tommy Lasorda at Vero Beach during the game while he was seated on the bench back in the late 80's. I was in the front row but only 6-8 feet from him. Enjoy!
