Works both ways.
Last year the Balkan Mountains experienced an unseasonal warm spell (roughly 20C above normal) which drew the bees out of hibernation. As there were no flowers the bees starved.
Follow Ups:
If we screw over the bees, WE are screwed, as a planet/species. Pollination, as it were, is somewhat crucial here on Earth.
We aren't collectively treading very lightly here as humans, are we?
Hopefully we'll learn our lessons, and we'll all do better soon.
(Yeah, right...... and a dozen screaming monkeys will fly out my butt!)
Without bees Monsanto will have a global monopoly on crop seeds.
We will all have to bend over, lift our shirts and take what's coming or face starvation.
