that is a good time, I haven't had tequila or any mixed drinks for a couple of years after giving up the hard stuff, I remembered when I drank an entire bottle of Mezcal and ate the worm ;)

Cooked it tonight, will finish and eat it tomorrow. Leftovers for the big freeze and ice storm Sunday night

I have eaten dozens of the worms. The first one was the only mentally tough one even with with mezcal courage. Chomped down on it and got a squirt of booze. The worm itself is like chewing a rubber band. Chew and chew and it only becomes smaller pieces. Sort of a let down. I was expecting some sort of monumental experience.

They are nice fried. Taste like scrambled egg with grated shrimp in a crunchy little parcel.
Tho I applaud those who can. It'll definitely liven a party up!

You could not pay me enough to eat a worm - no matter how long it's been pickled in Mezcal... it's still a worm. (Actually, it's a larva, which is even more gross.)
BTW, your chili pot looks like a Thomas by Rosenthal pot. Beans? No beans? I prefer chili with beans.

I am making a pot of Pinto Beans for the heathen coming over tonight who is in the Pro Bean camp.
In Meskin food, IMHO, beans belong either in a bean burrito or as a side with cheese enchiladas. Any other uses of beans are suspect :)

i think I might make something similar in my slow cooker, I have some beans somewhere, although my plan is not to leave my place the entire weekend, It is 17 degrees outside, and inside I have the gas heat set to 80 ;)
