...rather tasty!
I'll give that a go sometime.
The Superbowl is a bit of a non-event around here but I won't wait until the Rugby WC final either. ;-)
Are there any side dishes that would typically be served with the roast?

It's AMAZING! We always to white rice. Then either broccoli with a white sauce (cuts some of the heat), carrots in a butter sauce, or acorn squash with butter and brown sugar. Maybe some garlic bread. And a really bold wine, like a petite syrah.Just be careful with the "vegetable mixture". If you don't want it too spicy, scrape the veggies off the meat when you serve it. A teaspoon/tablespoon in the rice is sufficient.

I quite like it hot and wasn't really worried about that one teaspoon of cayenne.
I probably would add a chopped scotch bonnet chili or two to the veg to get the heat up to jamaican/indian levels.
Especially now that my oldest daughter who has an unexplicable love of bland food has left for university.

Yes, well, you live in the good 'ol UK, so a love of bland food is almost a requirement for citizenship. ;)
BTW, I love the TV show "Posh Nosh"!
:)
Still stuck with half century old prejudices I see. ;-)
The most popular food in Britain is indian and has been for a long time.
I have the good fortune to live not far from the Balti Triangle.
Btw neither myself, my wive nor my daughters are british citizens.

Ya know, I really must go see my friend. You might be familiar with her work:

Buy her book "Stone Universe". It's great!
:)
This is such a wonderful combination of flavors that I'd recommend trying it "standard" first. Double the "vegetable mixture" components. It has plenty of heat. Make sure all your ingredients are fresh.
Then try one with the scotch bonnet and see what you like.
