Particularly for condos or if you need it for only one or two areas. I like them better than forced air.
The only issue is that they are disproportionately expensive in US.

I converted to the Mitsubishi ductless system for my home two years ago. I had ceiling electric heat which was very inefficient. I love the ductless setup.
Some are noisier than others. If that matters for your proposed use do some research. The heat pump function dissapears below 35 degrees; units with additional resistive heating elements are being phased out by the green weenies. Basically the best solution to heat and cool one or two spaces.
My wife's uncle has one on a covered/enclosed porch, works great. He's in North Carolina, where it's very humid, and does get somewhat cold in the winter (not 20 below zero tho).
