The Tao is short and concise. You either get it or don't. The entire work can easily be read in one sitting. You will know if it resonates with you after reading a few stanzas.

I read a few verses on wikipedia. From what I read it resonates with me. I like that all the verses end with a calm clarity. I will add it to my list.
is a tough language because of its built-in vagueness.
If indeed you enjoy reading it--- and it is unlike any other work I can think of because the words themselves when read seem to impart --- with no conscious effort on the reader's part--- serenity and inner peace, you'll also like reading his greatest apostle, Chuang-tsu. Quite different approach, through anecdotes that can be hilarious. The philosophy expressed, however, dovetails exactly with that of Lao-Tzu.
