I microwave them, then put them on the grill along with the steaks to crisp up their skins.

Yeah, grilling them sounds like a good idea. I'll have to try that.
As long as we're all focussed on baking potatoes...
We jump-start them in the microwave, and then finish them in the toaster oven, similar to what Road Warrior does.
But I wonder if they'd retain more water, and thus be moister (more moist?) if we'd just do them entirely in the microwave. It seems that oven-baking in dry heat for an extended period, especially if not foil-wrapped, might be drying them out more than microwaving them. Maybe I can get a government grant to study that question. Yeah, that's a good idea.

Microwaving them is suitable for emergencies, i.e., the man is doing steak and baked potatoes, forgets to bake the taters, the steaks are almost done, so he slips em in the Microwave leaving the Mrs. none the wiser whilst she's discussing her latest harrowing adventure at Bed Bath and Beyond with her peers.
