With Baylor and Oklahoma losing, the Big 12 may be out of the hunt altogether for the Final 4.If Florida St wins today, I can't see them losing after today. The schedule is just too weak, so I'm for the Irish today as I see Florida St as over rated with not much of any big wins.
The Mississippis have a challenge, each still has Auburn or Alabama on their schedules as well as each other. And who knows about Arkansas, they been in every game and just come oh so close.
As far as one loss teams, Michigan St and Notre Dame might have the best shots as their losses would be to the then ranked #1 and #3.
It will be full of controversy especially if two SEC teams make it in. It should have been at least an 8 team playoff with the winners of the Big 5 conferences plus 3 wildcards.
Honestly, I think there will be 2 loss teams that could beat Florida St.

I don't see the team having the skills, so far, to do it. Today vs WA should be a clue. Still, WA hasn't done much defensively against other good teams so it may not be that good an indicator. One thing's for certain, the Husky offense isn't very good; if the Ducks D doesn't dominate that side of the ball, it has little hope vs Utah or Stanford.
That is pretty much how I see it as well. A lot will change in the next few weeks. It's going to be fun to watch it happen (hopefully) I hope the NCAA ends up with a 16 team playoff that takes place over 5 weeks or so starting in December but this years 4 team is a start. I think we'll quickly see however that the four team version doesn't do enough to stop controversy and more importantly have enough of the deserving teams in it. I think even a non biased panel would have a problem picking just four teams most any year.

Winner of Fla. St/ND game today. I'll take Floriduh St
Winner of the Miss ST/Ole Miss game, provided they also win conf championship, I'll take Miss St
Oregon, best 1 loss team around not named Alabama and if they run the tables they deserve to be in. They need Mich St to keep winning tho
Winner of the Auburn/Alabama game provided the winner is a 1 loss team. I'll take Alabama, just because they're Alabama

Wyoming, Indiana, Michigan, and Boise St. Ain't none of them getting any closer than their TV sets.
I'll put money on these calls.
Saben must have knocked them silly last week or A&M really sucks.
What if 'Bama and Auburn knock off the two Mississippis. That would leave one A and one M with 1 loss. Who goes to play Georgia? And what if Georgia wins?
I still think that if you don't win your division, much less your conference, you don't go. In that case, Michigan St might get the nod though you're right, both their and Oregon's fate is dependent on both of them winning out.

over the teams ranked in the top ten? Winning divisions and conferences does not tell you who the strongest teams are. SEC two loss teams can kill most 1A teams. Sorry, but that's the unfortunate truth(for SEC teams). If Alabama and LSU could keep their players until senior year vs. losing 6-8 per year to the NFL, it would be scary.
end of story

I guess yer saying is what if Auburn beats Ole Miss and bama beats Miss ST? Of course 'bama and Auburn play each other as well as Miss St and Ole Miss have to play each other. 'bama has to play a much improved LSU team as well as does Ole Miss. Ughhhhh.
