of Mateos mrgrta mixer (maybe 1 oz in an 8 oz mini pitcher). EDIT_ I did NOT use a blender. I used a shaker. No drink em frozen at home.BTW, I think I'm agreeing with you when I say a nice Anejo in a mrgrta is overkill. I've used $100 "gift" tequilas in mrgrtas and found them no more satisfying than a $25-$30 budget reposado tequila in a mgrgrta. Kinda like trying to enjoy a 2009 Grgich Hills Cabernet with a splash of 7-up in it.

As I had hoped, this thread has given me many things to try, and I intend to take advantage. :-)
The home recipe is: a little more than a shot of decent silver tequila like patron or cabo wabo, less than a shot of Cointreau, and about a shot of fresh squeezed lime juice. Shake hard with ice and pour straight up in small glasses. Plan little else after two.
